The Filtnib is Esther Bintliff; it’s also her surname backwards, minus an F; it’s also an amalgam of the words filt and nib, which are defined below, thanks to the almighty dictionary; it’s also suggestive of a variety of appropriate things including felt-nib pens, pen nibs in general, filters (through which you may see things newly or in different shade) and lastly nibbles i.e. bitesize chunks of hopefully edible substance.
Esther is a reporter at the Financial Times but the thoughts expressed on this blog are merely her own.

Howdy Filtnib,
Glad to see there are other Filtnib’s out there. Wow, genetics are an awesomely strange thing. Think about it, two Bintliffs who find great humor (and in my case, one of my favorite hobbies) in backwards names (especially their own)!!!! LOL
Keep up the good work,
