actually, in all seriousness - ive only just read this - 'impeccable timing' in catherine tate?! No no no...the excruiciating cringe worthiness of that little episode was matched only by the near universal chorus afterwards of 'oh, wasn't he funny, 'bovvered' hahaha, they really are like that arent they, sod the war, all's fair in lowest common denominator catchphrase-based sketch shows, innit'. yuck.

other than that, a very good read. He was an excellent politician, i'll give him that, for what its worth.

Ditto to vanessabandal's comment.

Don't know why we have both found this site today, but I too think that Tony Blair is a great man. Now, in his post-premier life, and with another PM to compare him with, it is patently clear even to his enemies, that he is a political giant who was surrounded by pygmies.

I was not a Labour voter, but I was always happy with Blair as PM. I now would LOVE the chance to vote for Blair's Labour party - but that party is now gone. Without Blair it is only half the party it was.

It was Blair who made it, fronted it and believed in it. I do not accept that he did nothing for the poor, in fact he did more than we seem willing to recall.

And in his absence Brown look like he has lost his raison d'etre.

People always look for the shortcomings, the failures, the bad. It is one of my disappointments in human nature that we fail to recognise the good in people.

For some Iraq was a step too far. For me, it was the making of him. I think he made the right decision AND for the right reasons.

I started a blog in some despair when I realised that his party were gunning for him, seriously. I should have stopped it ages ago. I meant to ... it just became rather addictive.

If you want to visit a site where Mr Blair is seen as a hero and not the devil incarnate, please feel free.

Dearest,
You're a great man, Tony, whatever you did. Sometimes life just gets plenty of hang-ups. Sometimes we don't know the reason why we did the things we did, and sometimes they end up to be right in the long run. Sometimes, we've got to make the hard decisions to make life better for everyone. But whatever it is, live with the thought you have lived your own life the way you wanted to live it. Whatever happens, you've been through it and it was great. Anyway, lots of love.
